Its going ahead ! !
Obviously, we cant predict what world will be like in March 2021, so we are adopting the attitude that "This is the way we would do it if the event started tomorrow".
Many things have to change, Since there are so few commercial aircraft in the air, we cannot rely on the rash shirts being supplied out of China, so, we are using an Australian supplier. They will be Polo shirt style.
Both private and licensed premises have restrictions on numbers on their premises and its doubtful they could handle the three hundred people we would have on Friday, Saturday night and Sunday afternoon so things will be done differently.
Instead of the Friday night briefing there will be a video presentation for both computer and mobile phones. We will set up a Covid safe (and Covid legal) distribution of registration material such as the bags, shirts etc. No crowds - one in one out. This will be done in the downstairs BBQ area. Once you have your registration material you will be asked to leave. You are free to enter the Club itself through the only open door (The main entrance), register to enter the club and there after abide by their Covid safe rules.
We will issue vouchers for a meal and leave all the catering to the Tuross Head Country Club. You can redeem the voucher at the Country Club for a meal (Friday night or Saturday night or Sunday night) or at the THCC Bottle shop
The Tuross Boatshed currently has a maximum number of people (including staff) that it can have on its decks and we will not be issuing numbered tags. Instead, we will issue a code at 7.00 am each day to be written on or near the brag mat along with your competitor number as you photograph the fish and then send that to us. The code for Saturday will be different to the code for Sunday.
The boat shed is also asking that Tournament competitors ring them for coffee or meals etc. The will prepare the order and a staff member will deliver to the deck edge. They ask that you do not tie up at the deck but stand off until your order is ready and you are called in to collect.
So - you can see that there are quite challenging preparations ahead for us organising this event BUT ITS GOING AHEAD !!!!
There will be all the usual things like raffles etc, but they will be done differently.
From this point onwards there will be updates on our development progression and subject to changes as the Covid situation changes. Your health and safety is our prime concern.
